Caving

Pennsylvania has an extensive cave network and many are found local to Altoona. If you want to explore and see underground formations, you can contact the Nittany Grotto club. There you can rent equipment, go on caving expeditions and basically have a great time. Caving equipment can also be purchased at Appalachian Outdoors in downtown Altoona - Happy Valley.
