RIDGWAY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A battle over municipal water continues in Ridgway Township, Elk County. It all started a few years ago as a deal between the township and several residents along Route 120.Municipal water lines already run past the houses. But residents claim the township agreed to let them keep their water supplies. In March, the township decided to mandate the use of municipal water and gave residents three months to make the switch. Now residents claim recent state legislation supports their case. They said the legislation states that anyone with an acceptable water supply cannot be forced into using municipal water.Ridgway Township officials declined comment on the issue.
