BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. -- Parents of the former Chaneysville-Cove Elementary School were looking for answers Tuesday night at a special transportation meeting with the Everett School Board. The board voted 6 to 3 to send students over the Beans Cove Mountain on school buses. The kids used to go to Chaneysville-Cove but the school has been shut down.Several parents cried and showed obvious frustration when the decision was made. They said a school bus on the windy mountain road is calling for disaster, especially in bad weather. The board said it will revisit the decision in October. In the meantime, parents asked board members to consider a bus stop on the Everett side of the mountain so they can drive their own kids on the back road. The school board is also going to work on a plan to deal with the bad weather.About 70 students will be affected by the change.
