Spikes Lose To Tigers, 6-1

The State College Spikes lost their second straight game to the Oneonta Tigers Sunday Night, losing 6-1 at Dameschke Field.

The Spikes took the lead in the second inning after Andy Vasquez reached base on a bunt single.  Vasquez later scored on a Cole White sacrifice fly.  This would be the Spike's only score of the game.

Oneonta reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the second inning by scoring four funs off of five hits.  Of the five hits, two were triples.

The Tigers added a run in the the fourth and eigth inning to ensure a victory against the Spikes.

Spikes starting pitcher Ryan Kelly was the losing pitcher of the game, allowing five runs on seven hits over 3 1/3 innings.  Kelly struck out three batters.

The Spikes will play the Tigers again tonight at 7 p.m. and will return to Medlar Field, Wednesday, July 9th to begin a series with the Hudson Vally Renegades.
