Spikes Lose To Scrappers Sunday Night

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers beat the State College Spikes 9-1 at Eastwood Field Sunday night.  The Scrappers were able to hold the Spikes to only three hits.

The Scrappers scored four runs on five hits in the first inning off of Spikes' starting pitcher Emilis Guerrero.  Every batter in the Scrappers' lineup had at least one hit in the game.

The Spikes scored only one run in the fourth inning off of a Jeremy Farrell single that scored Andy Vasquez.  Vasquez reached base after being hit by a pitch.  Farrell had two hits in the game.

The Spikes wrap up their road trip today with another game against the Scrappers.  The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.  The Spikes return to Medlar Field to take on the Williamsport Crosscutters on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
