The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Spikes last night 7-2 increasing their losing streak to six games.

Derek Norris hit a home run in the seventh inning followed by a Stephen Englund home run in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach.  Half of the Lake Monsters' eight hits were for extra bases.

The Spikes were held to two hits in the game, a double from Matt Payne and a single from Butch Biela.  The Spikes scored both of their runs in the seventh inning due to a throwing error by Vermont's Steve Souza.
