Sept. 2nd - Spikes Lose Again To Batavia

Batavia had 18 hits, including eight doubles, to again beat the Spikes at Medlar Field by a score of 10-2 Tuesday evening.

On a positive note, David Rubinstein extended his streak of consecutive games with a hit to 13 with an infield single in the seventh inning.  

Batavia scored a run in the third on an error by Carlos Amaro, then scored another run in the fourth inning.  The Muckdogs scored two more runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth inning.  Batavia scored four runs on five base hits in a row with two outs in the eighth inning to cap their scoring run.

Tyler Cox received the loss for the Spikes.  Cox allwoed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three batters over two innings.

Tonight the Spikes will host the Auburn Doubledays for the final series of the year at Medlar Field.  It is the last Going Green Environmental Night of the year.  The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Spikes Re-Usable Grocery Bag.  The Centre County United Way will also hold their Campaign Kick-Off at the park.
