Aug. 28th - Spikes Beat Scrappers 4-3

A tenth inning single by Chase d'Arnaud gave the Spikes a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers last night at Medlar Field.  The single by d'Arnaud scored Ciro Rosero who had doubled earlier in the inning.  Rosero's double scored David Rubinstein who had reached based on a walk.

The Spikes took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning off of a home run by Kyle Morgan.  The Scrappers tied the game in the fourth inning.  However, the Spikes responded with a single from Rubinstein which scored Mark Carver to take the lead again.

Mahoning Valley once again tied the game in the seventh inning and took the lead in the tenth inning before the Spikes mounted their late comeback.

The Spikes play the Scrappers again Friday, August 29th at 5:30 p.m.  A lucky fan will win a three-day, two-night trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, complete with airfare and a hotel.
