Penn State men’s basketball team will host Wake Forest on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in the 21st annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the conference announced the matchup on Thursday morning.
The Bryce Jordan Center meeting will be the first between the two teams since Penn State's 67-63 win over the Deacons and third meeting overall. The game will air on one of the ESPN networks. Game time and specific broadcast information are to be determined.
This year's meeting is Penn State's second-straight home game in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge game at home for the second-straight season. The Nittany Lions beat Virginia Tech 63-62 during last season's challenge as freshman guard Myreon Jones scored 18 points en route to the victory.
“As the schedule worked out for us, we’ll be coming back home to the BJC for Wake Forest after two games in New York in the preseason NIT,” said Penn State coach Pat Chambers. “It’s definitely going to be exciting to have a brand-new opponent in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.”
Penn State has won four of its last five Challenge games and is 9-9 in the series while Chambers is 5-3 in the challenge.
Additionally the Nittany Lions will play at Georgetown on Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Gavitt Games series vs. the Big East.
