Penn State Hockey: Big Ten Tournament Ticketing Information

on January 10, 2018 11:48 AM

The Big Ten Tournament will no longer be played at a neutral site, now coming to campus location across the conference starting this season.

Penn State hockey season ticket holders now have the right-of-first-refusal on their seats for the entirety of the tournament should the Nittany Lions host.

For the first time in its five year history the Big Ten Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament is coming to campus sites beginning March 2-4, 2018 with Quarterfinal action. The overall No. 1 seed will earn home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs should they continue to advance after an opening weekend bye.

The Quarterfinal round will see the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 seeds play host to the No. 7, No. 6 and No. 5 seeds, respectively, in a best-of-three series on March 2-4. The semifinals the following week on March 10 will be single-elimination with the lowest remaining seed traveling to the No. 1 seed and the two remaining seeds after that playing against each other at the site of the higher seed.

The Championship game on March 17 will then be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the tournament.

Men’s hockey season ticket holders can now log in to the Penn State Ticket Portal to secure their season ticket location for all five potential home games in the Big Ten Tournament.  The deadline for season ticket holders to secure their season ticket location is Friday, February 9, 2018.  Fans are highly encouraged to select the “Pay as We Play” payment plan option when purchasing their tickets.  By selecting the “Pay as We Play” payment plan, fan’s credit cards will not be charged until it has been confirmed Penn State will host games during the Big Ten Tournament.  Credit cards being used for the “Pay as We Play” payment plan must have an expiration date of March 2018 or later.

Should Penn State host the Quarterfinals (best of 3 series, Mar. 2 – 4) credit cards will initially be charged for the first two games of the series.  Should the series require the third game be played, credit cards will be charged immediately following completion of the second game on March 3.  If Penn State were to host the Semifinal game (March 10) and / or the Big Ten Championship (March 17) credit cards would be charged once it has been confirmed the game(s) will be played at Pegula Ice Arena.

Pricing for the Big Ten Tournament will remain consistent to regular season per game pricing for men’s hockey season ticket holders.  A seating chart with pricing information can be found HERE.

With the quick turnaround of these playoff games and sudden changes in seeding that could occur during the final weeks of the regular season, mobile ticketing will be the primary method of entry for the Big Ten Hockey Tournament.  Physical paper tickets will not be mailed. For the easiest and most convenient ticket management, fans are encouraged to download the revamped GoPSUsports app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android – COMING SOON.)  Fans can reference the Mobile Ticketing How to Guides for additional information on mobile ticketing.

Single game tournament ticket information will be announced once it is confirmed Penn State will be a host.
