Penn State Football: Pro Day Reportedly Set For March 20

on January 18, 2018 11:50 AM

Penn State football season never really ends and according to Field Yates of ESPN, Penn State's 2018 Pro Day has been scheduled for March 20. That date has yet to be formally announced and is subject to change.

Pro Days are a chance for players to perform in front of scouts and coaches. For some, it's a chance to improve on their testing numbers at the NFL Combine that starts Feb. 27 and runs until March 5. For others not invited to the combine it will be the first opportunity to work in front of scouts and coaches.

Drills include a 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone, 20-yard shuttle and 60-yard shuttle. They can also take part in more position-specific drills.

It's hard to say for sure who will take part in Penn State's Pro Day, but it should be a star-studded cast after a few years of fairly low key workout sessions.

The day won't be short on names, even if the likes of Saquon Barkley decide they're happy with their combine numbers and decide not to test.

Of those other players eligible: Marcus Allen, Troy Apke, Saeed Blacknall, Jason Cabinda, Christian Campbell, Tyrell Chavis, Curtis Cothran, Parker Cothren, Tyler Davis, Mike Gesicki, Grant Haley, DaeSean Hamilton, Brendan Mahon, Josh McPhearson, Andrew Nelson, Tom Pancoast, Daniel Pasquariello and Brandon Smith.

Former Penn State players and on occasion players outside of Penn State are permitted to attend as well.
