Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Add Another To 2019 Haul

on August 02, 2018 2:47 PM

Penn State added another name to its 2019 class as lineman Zachary Franks verbally committed on Thursday afternoon.

Franks comes in at 6-foot-6, 290-pound and is rated a three-star recruit by several outlets. The Thursday decision saw Franks choose Penn State over the likes of Northwestern, Duke, Rutgers, Arizona, and others.

Franks' decision comes following Penn State's annual Lasch Bash weekend and joins North Carolina receiver Emory Simmons who committed to Penn State last Saturday.

He marks the program's 15th verbal commitment in the Class of 2019 and joins four-star guards Saleem Wormley and Caedan Wallace as linemen in a position of need, already verbally committed to Penn State.

Penn State secured a verbal commitment from four-star quarterback Michael Johnson Jr. on Wednesday. The Nittany Lions' 2019 haul is currently ranked 14th best in the nation and third best in the Big Ten.
