Penn State Football: Five Underrated Saquon Barkley Runs

on December 01, 2017 1:36 PM

Saquon Barkley is *probably* going to declare for the NFL Draft, he has a chance to go in the Top 5 and is just weeks from making millions and millions of dollars being one of the best running backs on the planet.

So it's around this time that everyone lists Barkley's best runs. A chance to watch his Rose Bowl scamper and winner against Minnesota.

But what about the rest of them? Here are five underrated runs of his career. And if he doesn't go pro, well, it's not like watching Saquon Barkley run the ball is ever a waste of time.

1. Oh he's for real.

If any run showcased just a little bit of everything it was his catch, run and score against SDSU way back a million years ago that opened the eyes of many Penn State fans. Barkley wasn't a household name just yet, but he sure was making a good first impression.

2. And he's gone

This Temple game was pretty close and often forgotten among all the other memorable moments of 2016, but rest assured this Barkley run and that change of direction shouldn't be.

3. Umm ok

Let us not forget the moment Saquon Barkley jumped backwards over someone.

4. Bounce out

This game was really the first breakout moment for Barkley prior to his showing at Ohio State and the run at this video's 2:35 mark shows why. Bounce inside, off the tackles, back out and around, down the field. Something special.

5. He got hurt but...

This run actually resulted in Barkley missing a few weeks with an ankle injury, but he got his money's worth.
