Annual Curve Ticketpalooza Event Set For March 8th

Altoona Curve fans are invited to Blair County Ballpark for a fun
day of ballpark activities and entertainment, kids games, great food
and much more as part of the club's annual TicketPalooza event on
Saturday, March 8th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at
the Upper Ticket Plaza along Park Avenue. Admission and parking are
free.
TicketPalooza is also the first day in which the general public can
purchase single-game tickets to any of the Curve's 71 home games during
the Tenth Anniversary 2008 Season, including the Home Opener on
Thursday, April 3rd, which will feature a special visit by former
Steelers' running back and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerome
Bettis. 2008 Curve single-game tickets can be purchased starting at 9
a.m. on March 8th in person at the Blair County Ballpark Box Office,
over the phone by calling 877-99-CURVE or on-line at AltoonaCurve.com.
In addition to standard TicketPalooza activities from the previous
five years, several fun, new items have been added to this year’s
agenda. The complete list of TicketPalooza activities is listed below:
- NEW! Free breakfast sandwiches will be served from 8-10 a.m. along with coffee and hot chocolate
- NEW! Starting at 10 a.m., free Hot Dogs courtesy of Berks Foods, Mini-Curve Burgers and Iced Tea will be served until Noon
- NEW! A Guitar Hero Tournament, giving fans the opportunity to play
the hit video game on the Curve's giant video board! A $50 Curve Gift
Card will go to the winners of both the 12 & Under category and the
13 & over age bracket
- NEW! The first Blair County Ballpark appearance by "Bob The
Baseball Dog", the Curve's brand-new Yellow Labrador Retriever puppy
- NEW! Interactive fan Q&A sessions with Curve General Manager
Todd Parnell and other Curve front office staff members between 9 and
10 a.m.
- NEW! Opportunity for Curve fans to appear in ballpark commercials by sharing their favorite 10th Anniversary memories
- NEW! Mascot Tryouts from 11 a.m. to Noon give fans the opportunity to win a job as a Curve mascot during the 2008 season
- NEW! The Grand Re-Opening of the Curve Stockyard Team Store starting at 8:30 a.m.
- NEW! A Musical Fashion Show highlighting new Curve merchandise items will be held at 10:30 a.m.
- NEW! Snap Fitness of Altoona will be on hand to perform free fitness tests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Curve Prize Packages for the first fans in line to buy tickets
- Guided tours of Blair County Ballpark
- Kids Inflatable Games
- Kids Petting Zoo
- Kids Face Painting and Arts and Crafts
A heated 20’ x 20’ tent will protect fans standing in line to buy tickets from inclement weather conditions.
The fun activities surrounding TicketPalooza 2008 will actually
begin the night before on Friday the 7th as Curve General Manager Todd
Parnell will host "Parney Palooza" from 5-7 p.m. Fans are invited to
come to visit Parney at the ballpark's Upper Ticket Plaza as he begins
his annual RV campout prior to TicketPalooza. Free hot dogs will be
served and fans in attendance will be eligible to win Curve tickets and
other great prizes. In addition, several local boy scouts will be
arriving at the ballpark at 7 p.m. to begin their own campout. The
scouts will take part in scout skill lessons before watching a movie on
the BCB videoboard.
