Calls to the Push Out The Pusher Hotline have resulted in two more drug arrests in the city.

Officers from the Altoona and Hollidaysburg Police Departments conducted a controlled buy of cocaine a little after 7:30 p.m. Thursday night involving Nathan Sanders of 2303 7th Avenue, 3rd floor and Brett Smith of 407 North 14th Street.

After police observed 27-year-old Sanders buy cocaine from 36-year-old Smith and deliver it to a police informant, they trailed Smith and stopped his vehicle on the 800 block of 6th Avenue and arrested him. Sanders was taken into custody at his residence.

Both men were charged with Delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance as well as other related charges.

In addition, when Smith was taken in to custody, police discovered he was a registered sex offender who had not reported a change of address as required by Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law. A subsequent criminal complaint was filed against Smith for that offense.

Smith and Sanders were placed in Blair County Prison with bail set at $100,000 straight cash for Sanders who was currently out on bail for three other pending drug charges. Bail was set at $30,000 for Smith on the drug charges and $50,000 for the Megan’s Law Violation.
