Local Rape Suspect Not The Father Of 12-Year-Old Victim's Baby

The man arrested two weeks ago for the rape of a 12-year-old Altoona girl is not the father of the girl’s baby.

City Police have established through saliva tests that Curtis Walk is not the father.

The Blair County District Attorney’s office made it clear late last month that the investigation into the crimes against the 12-year-old didn’t end when Walk was arrested.

Walk is still facing various sex charges including child rape, statutory sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault.

According to published reports police have now turned their attention to a 42-year-old registered sex offender living in Hollidaysburg as the possible father. Court records show the new suspect was found guilty in the late 1990s of two counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors.
