Former Blair Judge Facing Sex Charges

A former Blair County judge is facing charges in connection with an assault on a teenager.

65-year-old Richard Behrens of Tyrone has been charged with the indecent assault of an 18-year-old on April 3rd in Snyder Township. He apparently knew the victim according to court documents.

Police say the assault took place when Behrens and the victim were driving home from a planned outing. Behrens stopped the car on Decker Hollow Road and allegedly began hugging the teen and touching her inappropriately.

22-years ago Behrens resigned from the bench amid accusations that he was involved in a similar situation though charges were dismissed.
