Drug Bust Sends Two Altoona Residents To Jail

Officers from the Altoona Police Department, the Blair County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Drug Task Force raided a residence at 3018 Broad Avenue Monday.

28-year-old Daniel Deneen and 25-year-old Jessica Hewitt were taken into custody after police seized drugs, drug paraphernalia and over $1,200 in cash.

Police say Deneen flushed away an undetermined amount of cocaine when officers were trying to enter the home. A search turned up 47 grams of cocaine, with a street value of about $4,700, a pound of marijuana, with a street value of about $4,500, and four bottles of controlled pills.

Cocaine and a razor blade were found to be within easy access of three young children in the residence. The children, a one month old baby, a three-year-old and a five-year-old were all placed in the custody of family members.

Deneen and Hewitt now face various drug charges and have been placed in the Blair County Prison with bail set at $30,000.

The investigation was assisted by calls to the Push Out The Pusher Hotline and funding by Operation Our Town.
