Blair To Get Performance Preview This Week

Blair County leaders are set to get a preview of the current findings of their ongoing performance audit this week.

Commissioner Diane Meling says the short-term financial plan is necessary as the board begins to draft the 2009 county budget. The commissioners hired Government Finance Officers Association of Chicago earlier this year to find ways the county can cut expenses, increase revenues and better manage its operations.

Meling says the preview could provide some short-term financial solutions just as budget talks are set to get underway.

Meling says the project and its final results should be completed and turned into the board by the end of the year.
