Paid Research Opportunity For 27-65 W/ Depression

Peter A. Arnett, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at Penn State University, is conducting a study looking at emotional and brain functioning in MS. Individuals involved would participate in a clinical assessment, questionnaires, cognitive testing, saliva swab, and MRI scan.
Inclusion Criteria: 
·       Between 27-65 years of age
·       Depressive symptoms 
·       Fluent in English 
·       No diagnosis of MS or other neurological disorder
·       Able to travel to State College, PA for the session
·       Able to undergo an MRI
Exclusion Criteria: 
·       Unwilling or unable to consent
·       Diagnosis of bipolar or schizophrenia spectrum disorders 
·       Substantial neurocognitive impairments, such as dementia 
·       Acute suicidal ideations 
·       Very severe depression that would interfere with the ability to participate in the study 
·       Current treatment for depression: We will exclude patients if they are undergoing continued psychotherapy/behavioral treatments for depression. We will also exclude patients who started anti-depressant pharmacotherapy within the last 2 months. We will document current pharmacotherapy and monitor any changes in dosage throughout study participation (but this will not be an exclusion criterion). 
·       Unable to undergo an MRI scan (e.g., metal in your body)

Location: State College, PA
Approximate Participant Study Length: 6-7 hours 
Compensation: $100
