Build and Grow Clinics are free to the public and occur every other Saturday at 10am. Sundays at 2:00pm

WISE Women of Blair County is pleased to announce that they are seeking applications for scholarship assistance. One or more scholarships will be awarded up to a total of $12,000.
Scholarships will be available to Blair County resident females 21 years of age or older who have overcome adversity in their lives and who are pursuing post-secondary education.
WISE Women of Blair County is the successor organization of the Altoona YWCA. WISE stands for Women Involved in Scholarship and Empowerment. The mission of the organization is to empower women and to eliminate racism through collaboration, service, and education. The mission is fulfilled by providing scholarships, awarding grants, and recognizing outstanding women in our community through the annual Tribute dinner.

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.Thursday and Saturday Various local farmers gather outside under tents in Heritage Plaza (11th Avenue and 14th Street in downtown Altoona). Pennsylvania produce as well as organic produce is offered. Local orchards supply strawberries, peaches, apples and blueberries. Made from scratch baked goods, sold by local bakers, include pies, gobs and cinnamon rolls.

Mad Chad Appearance
Returning for another appearance in Curve, Pa. will be the chainsaw-juggling daredevil Mad Chad as he makes his way to Peoples Natural Gas Field as part of a jam-packed weekend at the ballpark.

Curve, Pa. Blue Out Saturday
The Altoona Curve will wear blue jerseys every Saturday home game during the 2012 season as part of Curve, Pa. Blue Out Saturdays in the fight against child abuse. The jerseys will be auctioned off on August 25th with all proceeds going to PCA PA (Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania). The Curve also encourage fans to wear blue to every Saturday home game to show their support.

Scout Night
Grab your tent and sleeping bags as tonight is Scout Night at Peoples Natural Gas Field! Scouts will be able to setup camp in the outfield after tonight's game and then all will watch a movie on our videoboard.

Kids Run the Bases
Strap on your PF flyers and do your best Benny the Jet impersonation kids as you can run the bases after today's game!
