Come join the fun with an evening swim at Prospect Pool from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, then settle back and enjoy a movie at dusk. There is just a $5.00 entry fee. Learn to use the wheel as a tool to make a variety of pottery forms - Cylinders, bottles and enclosed spheres, then change your form by paddling, texturing and exploring alternatives to "the good round pot". Participants should have basic throwing skills and be willing to discover some ways of personalizing thrown forms to make them more expressive and gestural than pottery forms that simply come off the wheel and are"done". We will work with whatever scale is appropriate for each person's experience level. The class will concentrate on clay in its plastic and leather-hard forms. WISE Women of Blair County is pleased to announce that they are seeking applications for scholarship assistance. One or more scholarships will be awarded up to a total of $12,000.
Scholarships will be available to Blair County resident females 21 years of age or older who have overcome adversity in their lives and who are pursuing post-secondary education.
WISE Women of Blair County is the successor organization of the Altoona YWCA. WISE stands for Women Involved in Scholarship and Empowerment. The mission of the organization is to empower women and to eliminate racism through collaboration, service, and education. The mission is fulfilled by providing scholarships, awarding grants, and recognizing outstanding women in our community through the annual Tribute dinner.

The mission of the Air National Guard Band is to provide musical support for Air Force and Air National Guard units, Department of Defense sponsored events, community and public events, and recruiting efforts.
